The pouring concrete crew was different than the sealer crew. Prior to water sealer application, I marked several footprints and scratches that the finisher tried to get out with etching solution (applied over 24 hours) and hand sanding with a 4 inch orbital sander. There was no overall grinding of the floor prior to sealer application.

Probably the only approach that will really work. IMO, having done it exactly once the 8" Edco floor grinder offers the best bang for the buck. The portability is great. Even this old guy could move it where it needed to go. I had a 45 square foot bathroom where using the larger machines was not possible. The floor had tile removed 12 years ago.

not suprised with the bad patch job, i run into this a lot. i would use a diamond cup wheel on an angle grinder if it is a small enough area. a vaccume attachment works good indoors to help control the dust. larger concrete grinders with complete dust containment systemes can be rented if the area is too large for the hand held grinder
